Kick off the 98th year of Western Welcome Week at Opening Night on Friday, August 7, on the south lawn of Sterne Park! This free evening of celebration, tradition, and hometown pride is a beloved community favorite—featuring a high-energy performance by The Petty Nicks Experience, a Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks tribute band. The band features soaring harmonies, stunning costumes, and a catalog of hits that defined a generation.
The evening will also include a Drone Show, starting about 9:00 pm. The Drone Show will feature the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Colorado Statehood and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Food Trucks will be at the park and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be for sale.
Outside alcohol is not permitted. You are encouraged to bring a chair and an umbrella for shade. Arrive early. This event is certain to be crowded. You will probably have to park in the neighborhood and walk to the park. A meeting place will be announced closer to this event.
